The rebirth of a myth
L’Iris de Fath marks the rebirth of a myth. Jacques Fath’s Iris Gris is regarded as one of the greatest perfumes, if not the greatest, and has remained unequalled since its creation. Its balanced duo of Iris and Peach showcases the exceptional know-how of perfumer Vincent Roubert. Originally launched in 1947, it disappeared after Fath’s passing in 1954. Although often copied, it has certainly never been equaled and remains unique and timeless.
It was unthinkable for this heritage to remain trapped in the past. Therefore, under the supervision of Creative Director Rania Naim, Jacques Fath launched an international perfumer competition to reproduce this exceptional fragrance as faithfully as possible. Ultimately, the myth was reborn, thanks to two young talents unanimously chosen by a committee of experts: Patrice Revillard, Perfumer, and Yohan Cervi, Creative Director of Maelström.

Additionally, a bouquet of Jasmine, Rose, and Violet delicately enhances these sensations, while Carnation adds a subtle, spicy touch, providing structure to the composition. Finally, Vetiver Bourbon, Sandalwood, and Oakmoss Absolute anchor the scent to the skin, revealing darker, more mysterious facets.

“All of this was achieved by carefully smelling the various Iris Gris vintage perfumes at our disposal, including the exquisite re-composition by the Osmothèque, created by Master Perfumer Jean Kerléo. Using only our expertise and our noses, and without direct access to the original formula, we focused on a single goal: to experience once again this masterpiece, crafted from noble ingredients at a breathtaking level.
Meanwhile, the main components of the original version were preserved, as they define the complexity and fullness of L’Iris de Fath. At the same time, we explored new paths beyond those taken by Vincent Roubert to achieve the same effects and evoke the same emotions.”
