Wild and Sensitive, the Eau de Parfum version challenges the aura of the extract with its sensational solfeggio of the most noble notes and its harmony with a perfect fall.
First, the Peach mingles with Violet Leaf and Bergamot. Then, in the heart lies the impressively vivid and playful, unchanged floral bouquet filled with Lilac, Rose, Jasmine, and Ylang. However, when worn, this version is more iridescent and woodier than the extract. Guided by his talent, the perfumer boldly rewrote the formula instead of lowering the concentration of ingredients.

Behind the Scenes...
“For the revival of the L’Iris de Fath Extract, we organized a competition among perfumers. However, to create the Eau de Parfum version, we took a different approach. Patrice Revillard, who had already successfully achieved a beautiful result on the extract, was the only perfumer to compose a formula this time. Ultimately, the challenge was to seduce another audience without disappointing the aficionados of the original,” explains Rania Naim, Creative Director of Jacques Fath Parfums.

“It seemed natural for me to introduce contemporary ingredients into the formula, even for a historical perfume. After all, musicians perform seventeenth-century music scores with today’s instruments without distorting the music in the slightest,” says perfumer Patrice Revillard.

THE FRAGRANCE
At the heart of the composition, the iris takes center stage, with its powdery and woody violet flower facets. Using Firmenich’s Orriscience technology, perfumers can optimize the development of Irone, the key aromatic compound, from the iris rhizomes. Thanks to this expertise, steam distillation produces an iris “butter” or iris concrete with Irone levels ranging from 8% up to 75% in the absolute. As a result, the fragrance achieves an exceptional fidelity to the natural character of the rhizome.

Originally launched in 1947, it disappeared after Fath’s passing in 1954. Although often copied, it has certainly never been equaled, and even today, it remains unique and timeless.
